As we present prizes to all the winners of our 2025 Art Competition we send huge congratulations to Stage 1 prize winners Robyn Van Der Merwe & Travis Hughes who have advanced to the National final. Over 800 entries from 23 Schools. Thanks go out to all parents, guardians and teachers for your support. A special word of thanks also to our adjudicator Emma Carter (www.emmacarter.ie) who wrote these inspiring words to all our entries:

Dear Young Artists,

It has been a true privilege to serve as a judge for this year’s Credit Union Art Competition, “The Future Is…”. Each one of you brought something extraordinary to your drawings —something only you could imagine—and it was inspiring to witness.

From the moment I began looking at the entries, there was a feeling of excitement in the room. Your drawings were bold, hopeful, thoughtful, and brilliantly creative. Some of you imagined worlds filled with new inventions, others pictured communities living in harmony, and many of you created visions that reminded us how important it is to take care of our planet. I could see the effort, passion, and imagination that went into every line, every colour, and every idea.

One of the most powerful themes that appeared again and again was the future of our Earth. Your artwork showed me clean oceans, green cities, thriving wildlife, and people working together to protect the environment. These images weren’t just beautiful— they were meaningful. It is a vital reminder that the future depends on the choices we make today.

Caring for our planet is not just a responsibility; it is an act of hope. Every time you choose to recycle, save water, plant a tree, or even create art that brings awareness to environmental issues, you are shaping a better tomorrow. Your drawings show that young people understand this deeply, and that gives all of us great confidence in the future.

Thank you for sharing your incredible talents, your voices, and your visions with me. Keep drawing. Keep imagining. And keep believing that your creativity can change the world—because it truly can.

With admiration,

Emma Carter
